Restructuring and receivership advice for secured creditors

How we can help you

McDonald Vague provides a range of services to banks and other secured creditors.  These include restructuring and turnaround advice, cashflow and profitability monitoring, investigating accountant reports, security reviews and forensic accounting.  We are able to assist in overseeing the sell-down of assets and businesses outside of a formal insolvency process.

Our Partners and staff are experts at assessing the financial and other challenges facing a company's business, and making clear recommendations for action.  These recommendations do not always involve a formal insolvency process.  We recognise that lenders often prefer to avoid being associated with appointing receivers if at all possible, and also that receivership may not always be the best option.

Restructuring and turnaround

A major part of our work for secured creditors involves providing restructuring advice and implementation.  The aim is always to preserve value within businesses wherever possible, and achieve a better outcome than would be likely in an insolvency.  The 'behind the scenes' nature of this work means that our role is usually only known about by the company and its lender.

For further information on the services we can provide in this area, please visit our Restructuring and turnaround page.

Receiverships

McDonald Vague partners are regularly appointed receivers, both by banks and private lenders.  We have a proven history of success in trading on and selling businesses across a range of sectors including retail, hospitality, agriculture, property and construction.  We are also experienced in trading on businesses for extended periods, in order to resolve management and operational issues before the business can be sold.  For examples of such assignments, see our hospitality or rural industry pages.

Our aim as receivers is always the same - to protect the interests of the secured creditor and ensure that debt is repaid as quickly as possible. Because a receivership appointment is for a single creditor, we can tailor our reporting to the client's own specific requirements.  This can involve reporting as frequently as weekly or fortnightly.
