Receivership

McDonald Vague partners are regularly appointed receivers, both by banks and private lenders. We have a proven history of success in trading on and selling businesses across a range of sectors including retail, hospitality, agriculture and construction. We are also experienced in trading on businesses for extended periods, in order to resolve management and operational issues before the business can be sold. Please visit our hospitality or rural industry sector pages for examples of such assignments.

Our aim as receivers is always the same - to protect the interests of the secured creditor and ensure that debt is repaid as quickly as possible. Because a receivership appointment is for a single creditor, we can tailor our reporting to the client's own specific requirements. This can involve reporting as frequently as weekly or fortnightly.

We have a diverse team from a range of backgrounds including:

  • Chartered accountancy
  • Rural sector
  • Insolvency and Trustee Service
  • New Zealand Police
  • Serious Fraud Office

We are able to respond quickly, are less risk averse and have a lower fee structure than most larger firms. As an independent firm of Chartered Accountants specialising only in insolvency and business recovery, we are much less likely to face conflicts of interest than larger, multi-disciplinary firms.

Please contact us for more information or visit our staff profile page for contact details of our Directors.

We also have team members who are fluent in Mandarin and Dutch.
