Insolvency and liquidation advice for accountants

We understand that insolvency and business recovery services are a specialist area that not all accountancy firms deal with on a daily basis. As Licensed Insolvency Practitioners, we work closely with other accounting professionals, providing them with up-to-date information and advice on insolvency and business recovery issues.

We have extensive experience in thousands of situations involving businesses in crisis, and we therefore clearly understand the dynamics of what is always a complex and emotional situation.

How we can help you and your clients

We are happy to offer you preliminary advice on your clients' situation, outlining the options available to them. We will treat your clients with empathy and respect and enable you to stay involved with the assignment should you wish to. We can also advise you on your responsibilities as their accountant in providing your clients with the advice they need to make decisions in responding to statutory demands, legal proceedings and other steps taken by creditors.

Statutory Demands / Winding-up applications

If your client has received a statutory demand, they should contact us immediately. If the shareholders wish to appoint their own liquidator, they have to act before the date the application is served.  Following this, the liquidator will be one nominated by the unpaid creditor, unless that creditor will consent to an immediate voluntary appointment.  There is likely to be a period of delay before a court hearing is set down, during which any disposition of company's assets may be later challenged.

The earlier you speak to us the better

If you have a client facing financial difficulties, we always recommend that they speak to us earlier rather than later. This gives us a better opportunity to preserve value and achieve a successful outcome for all stakeholders.
